The Karring Group (“we,” “our,” “us”) provides SMS/text messages to patients as a convenient way to share appointment reminders and other care-related information. This policy explains how we use and protect information when communicating by SMS.

By giving us your mobile number and verbally agreeing to receive text messages, you consent to receive SMS communications related to your care. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP.
2. Types of Messages

– Appointment reminders

– Other messages necessary for your healthcare
Messages may include limited Protected Health Information (PHI). We do not send marketing or promotional texts.
3. HIPAA Compliance
SMS messages are sent through Ultatel, which has represented that it is HIPAA compliant. We protect your information and limit what we send via text.
4. Your Rights
You may at any time:
– Reply STOP to stop receiving texts
– Ask for a different communication method

5. Information Collected
We only collect what is necessary to send and receive messages:
– Your phone number
– Message content
We do not intentionally collect any additional personal information.
6. Message Logs
SMS systems may automatically store delivery logs or metadata. We do not intentionally store or analyze message logs beyond normal system operation.
7. Third-Party Services
Mobile information will not be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
8. Opting Out
Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving text messages. Once processed, we will no longer text you unless you ask us to resume.
9. Security Notice
SMS is not an encrypted communication method. By choosing to receive texts, you acknowledge this risk.
10. Policy Updates
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on our website with a new effective date.
